Who We Are

Alexadra Porter

Owner/Director - Tap Instructor

Alexandra (Alley), began her dance career with Thaddeus Hayes Dance Theatre at the age of 4. She advanced her tapping skills under the instruction of Vincent Epps of SEVVA performing arts summer program. As she developed a true passion for dance Alexandra expanded her repertoire studying lyrical, jazz and tap at Sam Roundtree's School of Dance. Alexandra started her teaching career as the assistant tap instructor under the late Turquoise Daughtry. Turquoise empowered her to improve her skills in instruction and developed her into the Master Tap instructor she is today. Turquoise's leadership landed Alley a full time instructor position at Letitia White Academy of Dance, and later role as Assistant Director at Turquoise's School of Dance. Alexandra determined to keep her beloved friend and instructor's legacy alive, developed her passion project The Legacy Dance Company (TLDC). TLDC is affectionately named to celebrate the life and legacy of her dear friend Turquoise Daughtry. By molding the future of the dance community, Alexandra plans to show the world TLDC is more than just a place to dance it's OUR MOVEMENT!

Anaya Harvey

Hip-Hop

Anaya Harvey has been dancing since the age of 4 in the areas of ballet, tap, modern, and hip-hop. Throughout the years she fell in love with the art of hip-hop and has been working on perfecting her craft for years. She has competed in many dance competitions and has received several platinum, high gold, and gold awards.

Anaya believes that dance is suppose to inspire and dance students should have a good time while performing. She has experience with assisting with choreography and hosting classes. Anaya is currently a senior at Norfolk State University majoring in Business and Entrepreneurship.

Kayla Quiero

Ballet 1&2

Kayla started dancing at the age of 4 with The Letitia White Academy of Dance (LWAD). As Kayla grew, so did her passion for dance. In 2018, she joined Turquoise's School of Dance under the artistic direction of the later Turquoise Daughtry. In 2020, Turquoise started the Tantalizing Gems Majorette Team where Kayla held the position of Co-Captain and Drill Master. Kayla is a graduate of Bayside High School. Although the passing of Turquoise Daughtry was difficult, Kayla didn't stop dancing or being a big sister to so many of the younger dancers. Kayla is now the assistant coach of the Mini Dancers for the Gemz Majorette Team as well as instructor of Ballet 1&2 at TLDC.
